Aisha is a thought provoking being who loves to connect people by creatively enhancing communication across the diaspora. Her passion for strengthening individuals and families can be witnessed in both her professional and philanthropic body of work which began over 20 years ago doing art therapy with imprisoned women and youth who came from substance abuse and domestic violence homes. Affectionately called, the “kinetic girl”, her efforts continue to morph due to her curious nature and those she works with enjoy Aisha’s enthusiasm and unwavering support for their success. Some of the many hats she wears include: founder of The Healing Pot, Social Media Strategist, Prevention Specialist and Executive Director of the Drug Free Highlands Coalition. Aisha works with many sectors to promote health and wellness and incorporate events and programs that aim to increase positive social norms through education, policy change, environmental strategies and mental health awareness. Some notable endeavors include: The FARFROMDRÏNKEN campaign, Opiate Epidemic PSA Writer, The Blissful Doula Project, BACKCHAT, Week of The Family and A Pop of Culture in Prevention. Her editorial publications include, The Art and Science of Beautiful Skin, The News Sun, Highlands Today and NaturalBabyPros.com. Aisha is a national presenter on Social Media and Prevention and continues to highlight the need for increased birth education to decrease disparities and enhance maternal and infant health outcomes.
Aisha is certified in Mental Health First Aid and is a certified Strengthening Families Facilitator and Safe Server Trainer. She is a Board Member of the Children’s Service Council of Highlands County, a member of Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of American (CADCA), a member of The Florida Alcohol & Drug Abuse Association (FADAA) and sits on the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Committee for Hardee, Highlands and Polk Counties of Florida.
