Dr. Teresa Hilliard
Biography
Known for her dedication to service and tenacious work ethic, Dr. Teresa Hilliard, a native Washingtonian understands first-hand the need for providing best practice/evidence based health care to all citizens and residents in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia area. Dr. Hilliard graduated from Hampton High School, Hampton, VA in 1980 and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from Howard University, Washington, DC in 1984. In 1990, she received her Doctorate of Podiatry Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
The renowned Dr. Hilliard is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine, American Council of Certified Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons, American Board of Medical Specialties in Podiatry, Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and American Board of Podiatric Surgery (Eligible).
Dr. Hilliard served in the United States Army for almost 30 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). Her areas of specialization included Chemicals, Transportation, Civil Affairs and USAR. She has served in the capacity of Liaison Officer and Equal Opportunity Advisor to the Defense Logistics Agency. She is decorated and has distinguished herself with honors such as the Meritorious Service Medal (1st, 2nd 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1st 2nd 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, she was voted Who’s Who Among Rising Young Americans and named 2,000 Notable American Women.
Dr. Hilliard is the Founder & CEO of Family Podiatry, LLC a medical practice located in Landover, MD. Currently, the practice is serving corporate entities such as Behavior Research Associates, Evergreen Senior Community, Willow Senior Community, George Washington University Hospital, Howard University Hospital, Premier Surgical Services (In & Out facility), and Dimensions Healthcare Systems which includes Prince Georges Hospital Center, Laurel Regional Hospital, Bowie Health Campus and Glenridge Medical Center.
She holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Advance Cardiac Life Support Emergency Medicine and serves in various capacities such as a Licensed Foster Parent for Therapeutic children, Board Member for the District of Columbia Medical Licensure, Participate with National Board of Podiatric Medical Exam, SLEP (Student Learning Education Program) – Tutor and Arithmetic Resource Coordinator, member of the American Association for Women Podiatrists, Podiatric Medicine Action Committee Member, National Health Council Liaison, member of the National Podiatric Medicine Association, Member of the Sport Medicine Club, Editor of Class News Letter “Footnotes”.
